Fiscal Support Technician Location New Hanover County, NC : Position Information Are you looking for a challenging opportunity to utilize your fiscal knowledge and experience? New Hanover County is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance Department as a Fiscal Support Technician . The Finance Department provides financial information and guidance to the Board of County Commissioners and County Manager in allocating public resources to meet the needs and expectations of the community. The department also maintains accurate financial information to support the overall fiscal management through a system of financial planning, reporting, and control. The Finance Department also manages financials for the Tourism Development Authority (TDA) for New Hanover County. Responsibilities for this role include: Serve as backup to the primary cashier Processing various citations Responsible for departmental collections Review and post payment batches (waste works, latitude, and chameleon) Post debt set-off bi-weekly interceptions Maintain vendor requests and updates Prepare daily deposits Other duties and projects of similar nature The Finance department oversees: Budget and financial reporting Cash disbursements, cash receipts, and collections County payroll Grants Investments and debt Procurement and accounts payable New Hanover County is dedicated to the recruitment and recognition of a talented and diverse workforce that is committed to public service. Employment Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt Salary Information: The hiring range for this position starts at $36,325 - $49,038 plus a competitive benefits package . Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or and 1 year of related accounting experience that includes heavy public contact; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be proficient in using various Microsoft software applications.
