Salary Range: $4,300- $5,771 Monthly
This position is represented by the Teamsters 117 bargaining unit.
The expected duration of this non-permanent position is 60 days.
The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a detail oriented and critical thinking individual to join the Washington Corrections Center for Women team as a non-permanent

Fiscal Analyst 1 ! The goal of this position is to ensure the accurate management of incarcerated individual trust funds and the timely processing of financial transactions while providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders within the facility, by demonstrating respectful and inclusive interactions.
As an FA1, this position is responsible for a multitude of tasks including local fund and general accounting activities to include daily deposits, journal vouchers, general ledger and purchase card reconciliations.
The candidate of choice will utilize excellent communication and organization skills as you will partner with various Business Staff including Warehouse, Classification Counselors, Records, Mail Room, Vendors, Incarcerated Individuals, Incarcerated Individual Family/Friends, HQ Trust Accounting Staff, other Facility's Local Funds Staff and Other State/Federal Agencies. In addition, experience with Microsoft Office suite programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and TEAMS is a plus!

As a

Fiscal Analyst 1 , some of your duties will include:
Ensure payroll data is accurately recorded and employee's paychecks are timely and correct:

Using ATLAS and/or HRMS reports, ensure proper allocations for time worked.

Analyze and correct discrepancies.
Review and assess overtime and leave reports for reasonableness, investigate and resolve any issues.
Analyze leave reports to ensure the correct leave type is appropriately applied.

Correct or adjust balances as needed.
Analyze holiday premiums, resolve discrepancies and correct system entries.
Interpret and apply rules associated with leave usage to leave slips received and ATLAS leave entries.
Interpret and apply Health Care Authority eligibility rules associated with employee benefits. Ensure payroll forms are available for employees.
Answer employee questions pertaining to benefits and assist them in understanding the rules and completing the form.

What we need (required qualifications):
High School Diploma or GED
What will make your application stand out (preferred qualifications):
One year of relevant experience.

Relevant experience is defined as Fiscal Technician 2 or above level work.
A business focused Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or foreign equivalent, with minimum 20 accounting credits to include Accounting 201, 202, 203 and Governmental Accounting.

Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time.

Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite.

Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a "drop in" area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
