The Financial Specialist plays a critical role in supporting both administrative and financial functions within the department. This entails providing essential assistance to the financial team, including managing documents and processing financial transactions. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality are paramount in this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and accounting software systems. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the general supervision of the Financial Analyst.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Financial Analyst with the daily administrative tasks, including budgeting, financial reporting, and following accounting procedures. Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed. Maintain accurate records and files, both electronic and paper based. Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and mail. Assist with financial tasks such as processing invoices, preparing purchase orders, and maintaining expense records. Assist in budget preparation and monitoring, as directed by the Financial Analyst. Collaborate with finance personnel to ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance with policies and procedures. Input and maintain data in various systems and databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Generate reports and assist in data analysis as required by the Financial Analyst or other departmental staff. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Education: Graduate from a college or university with an associate or bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
