Responsibilities
• Assists with travel and training requisition processing for the Financial Office.• Plans, organizes and performs monthly reconciliation of assigned revenues and expenditures.• Monitors and tracks activity for assigned departmental activities.• Ensures that financial records and reports are maintained in accordance with regulations and accounting principles.• Serves as the petty cash custodian and ensures the policy is followed when disbursing, reconciling and replenishing funds.• Serves as travel and administrative procurement card custodian and ensures policy is followed when issuing cards and tracking disposition.• Prepares and makes bank deposits and is responsible for the JDRDC's revenue collection.• Communicates effectively with senior level management in person, over the phone, and via e-mail.• Assists with the development of the JDRDC's budget submission and year-end and quarterly reviews.• Works successfully in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
Requirements
• Knowledge of accounting theories, public budgeting, and grant administration.• General knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations governing municipal finance.• Ability to interpret automated financial reports and policies and procedures.• Ability to analyze revenue and expenses and make projections.• Ability to complete budget documents in accordance with the Department of Management and Budget.• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, supplemented by basic accounting principles and concepts.• Four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, or a bridge class enabling individuals without the educational or professional experience to qualify.• Knowledge of purchasing rules, regulations, and best practices.• Knowledge and experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for financial transactions and analysis.• Experience processing and tracking revenue and grants.• Experience with budget preparation.• Experience presenting data and information to senior officials.• Strong research, spreadsheet development, writing, and editing skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software, especially Word and Excel.• Must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, Child Protective Services Registry check, and credit check.
