Financial Services Child Support Case Manager - Entry Location Salem, OR (Central Area area) : Initial Posting Date: 04/30/2024 Application Deadline: 05/12/2024 Agency: Department of Justice Salary Range: $3,776 - $5,232 Position Type: Employee Position Title: Financial Services Child Support Case Manager - Entry : The Oregon Department of Justice's Division of Child Support (DCS) is seeking to hire multiple Child Support Case Managers (Entry) for the Division's Financial Services team in Salem. Primary Duties (in part) Due to the nature of this position, the required work hours during training are 8a.m or 8:30a.m.- 5p.m., Monday through Friday, with an hour or 30 minutes scheduled for lunch. After training is complete alternate or flexible schedules are permitted where business needs allow. Accounting Review cases with attorneys, other states, and customers. Read and interpret court child support orders and modifications. Apply federal laws, Oregon laws and rules, agency policies and procedures. Audit cases and support records to verify they comply with rules, laws, and are accurate, and provide report of audit results. Distribute child support payments to appropriate accounts and evaluate reports to identify payments that should be held or released. Review documents for credit and debit satisfactions and adjust cases. Takes action to bring accounts into balance as necessary. Case Management Manage a case load of customers whom you interview and gather information from to determine child support payments proper distribution and disbursement; including evaluating cases and making changes as they are necessary. Assist child support workers in the field offices with payment questions and resolutions to parents. Support the division by explaining complex accounting practices and procedures to assist with questions. Miscellaneous Provide technical expertise and explain audit results verbally and in writing. Testify at administrative hearings and other judicial and administrative proceedings as to the accuracy of an audit and validity of monies due. Facilitate administrative review process. Three (3) years of experience working with the public in person or by phone giving information about services and programs and solving customer problems/complaints. Experience must include the use of personal computers, web-based applications, and typical software such as Microsoft Office. Work experience is based on a 40-hour work week. (Example: 20 hours a week for one year would equal six-months of work experience.) OR Bachelor's Degree may substitute for the above experience. To receive credit for a degree, you must attach a photocopy of your transcripts to your application. AND Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprint-based criminal background check. A driver history check will be included for positions requiring state vehicle driving privileges. Adverse findings will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the position. After one year and upon a successful completion of trial service as a Child Support Case Manager-Entry, employees will meet the minimum qualifications of Child Support Case Manager and be placed in the Child Support Case Manager classification (Salary Range (21) - $4,425 - $6,146 monthly. 6% of which is the Public Employees Retirement System contribution). Current Division of Child Support case managers who are successful finalists will be processed as lateral transfers.
