Due to our continuous growth, we are currently seeking a Financial Controller for M3 Global Research, an M3 company.
Job Description
As our Financial Controller (US), you will play a pivotal role within our global Accounting team, overseeing all aspects of the Accounting and FP&A functions for the 4 US companies within the MR Group, a division of M3.
In this position, you will build essential relationships with the leaders of the 4 businesses, collaborating closely with them to ensure the delivery of robust finance services. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing day-to-day tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion of monthly financials, and collaborating with the global Accounting team and MR Group leadership.
Additionally, you'll be involved in various corporate tasks such as audit support and tax requests. We are seeking a highly experienced financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses a strong work ethic, exceptional customer relationship skills, and demonstrates strong leadership experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of the entire Month-End process.
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure proper performance of basic accounting functions.
- Manage various account reconciliations, including Bank Reconciliations, and ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies.
- Analyze financial reports pre-close and post-close to identify trends, estimates, and significant changes.
- Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports for the executive team as needed.
- Oversee the commissions and bonus process.
- Assist in various internal and external Audit Requests.
- Support M3's Tax Partner on Federal/State Tax filings.
- Ensure proper filing of Sales Tax filings.
- Oversee Budgets and Forecasts for the 4 US businesses.
- Manage the back office function for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of operations.
- Recommend and develop improvements to accounting systems and processes.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance team of the wider MR group to standardize processes and contribute to ongoing development for improved processes and controls.
- Control the monthly recognition of revenues and cost of sales, reconciling at project level.
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register and WIP accounts.
- Oversee intercompany processes between the companies.
Qualifications
Education and Training Required:
- Bachelor's degree required and CPA.
Minimum Experience:
- 10+ years of related experience, including 5+ years leading an Accounting function.
Knowledge, Skill, Ability:
- Exceptional time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Proactive and efficient.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; building strong relationships is essential for this role.
- Strong system skills including Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookups, and SumIfs) and Finance systems (Experience with NetSuite is beneficial but not essential).
- Strong ability to analyze a P&L statement.
- Experience managing new acquisitions and integrating them into a group is useful but not essential.
