Urban Restaurants Group is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations for our multi-restaurant organization to work in Eugene office . The Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth and profitability across our restaurant portfolio.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each restaurant location, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for each restaurant, collaborating with operational teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
3. Cost Management: Monitor and analyze costs related to food, labor, and overhead, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
4. Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, including monitoring cash balances, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing cash utilization across restaurant locations.
5. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, such as pricing strategies, menu development, and expansion opportunities.
6. Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and mitigate financial risks.
7. Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
8. Audit Support: Facilitate audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support to external auditors as needed.
9. Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to optimize terms and pricing, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality of goods and services.
10. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the restaurant industry. Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and financial analysis. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
