We are seeking a Financial Analyst AR/AP who will monitor AP/AR activity and sets the workflow procedures for the School of Medicine. The AR/AP Financial Analyst conducts activities including managing and reconciling AP/AR accounts, analyzing AP/AR data, and creating mandatory and ad-hoc reports.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities Coordinates Monitor AP/AR activity to ensure transactions are smooth, efficient, and in compliance with JHU policies and procedures. Review, set, and communicate workflow procedures. Maintain AP/AR accounts, analyze AP/AR data, reconcile accounts, create mandatory and ad-hoc reports; ensure revenue is posted to correct accounts. Applies Apply knowledge of AP/AR processes, other balance sheet elements, and existing JHU policies on billings, invoices, and collections. Creates/Prepares/Develops Prepare monthly, quarterly, yearly, and ad-hoc payroll closing entries, processing, and reports. Analyzes/Interprets Analyze and reconcile AP/AR activity and transactions to prepare and ensure accurate reporting; alert leadership if there are issues that require resolution prior to month-end close. Manages Manage all AP/AR activity including transaction approvals, payments of vendor invoices, collecting outstanding debts, checking for payment issues, monitoring overdue accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations. Problem Solving Identifies and escalates critical issues to the Manager of Business Operations as it relates to billing, invoices, overdue accounts, payment and transaction issues, and other AP/AR activities. Thinking Critically Determine aging schedule rates and when to pay bills and vendor invoices by incorporating previous collection trends and how to best represent the financial situation of the School of Medicine. Trains/Communicates Ensure that School and department colleagues are familiar with AP/AR processes, closing schedules, and other important items affecting financial transactions. Collaborates Partner with Manager of Business Ops; FP&A colleagues; Faculty Practice Colleagues; research Colleagues; Department Directors, Administrators, and Staff; University Controller; Internal Audit. Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and PowerPoint. Strong customer service orientation and focus on details, accuracy and meeting pre-determined deadlines. Understanding of and commitment to the Johns Hopkins Medicine mission. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field. Three years of progressively responsible related financial/accounting experience, preferably in a large and complex organization. Advanced Excel skills, with demonstrated knowledge of Pivot tables, formulas and other functions, experience with other data reporting tools.
Proven communication, organizational, and analytic skills. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications Experience in research financial management and academic business operations. SAP accounting knowledge preferred. Classified Title: Financial Analyst
