The University of Virginia recently experienced a financial transformation with the roll-out of its new financial system, Workday Financials. This cloud-based software was implemented to allow the University to leverage automation, reduce costs, improve accuracy, and mitigate risks.
With the recent launch of Workday Financials, Facilities Management has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager of Facilities Management construction projects.Facilities Management has approximately 700 construction projects totaling $2 billion. Typical responsibilities include reviewing, monitoring, and analyzing construction projects in the University's financial, project management, and work management systems, reconciling transactions between the systems, and reporting on the results. The Incumbent will possess critical thinking and customer service skills, the ability to perform data analysis, troubleshoot transaction issues, and provide recommendations for workflow and process improvements. Responsibilities: Manage capital and non-capital financials including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure analysis, contractual payments, and reconciliations for construction projects.
Prepare monthly, quarterly as well as ad-hoc financial and construction project reporting.
Serve as subject matter expert on construction project finances; strong ability to coach, train and develop other personnel is essential.
Support on-going initiatives and enhancements to financial processes and systems.
Responsible for taking on particularly difficult or complex finance tasks for construction projects, using a depth and breadth of finance and institutional knowledge to complete them to a high standard.
Manage and perform day-to-day task involving support and financial analysis, as needed.
May supervise staff and provide training and development.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant subject
At least seven years of experience in a financial discipline, preference for those with supervisory or leadership experience.
Proficient in Microsoft applications, including advanced user level of Excel. Compensation:
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $88,000 - $92,000. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits . Employee benefits package highlights include:
