The Role:
The Finance & Strategy (F&S) team serves as a trusted adviser to the business to help advise and guide decision making through business partner support and informative analyses. We are looking for forward-thinking, goal oriented individuals that will succeed in a fast-paced environment and thrive in building and improving processes that will allow the company to scale.
Within the F&S organization, this position will serve as a key member of the Tech & Product team fearlessly diving into big data sets to unlock insights around our business partners' biggest questions. This role will become an expert on the drivers behind customer and product gross margins. This position will be project based and will initially be focused on supporting executive quarterly business reviews by reporting product, region, customer, and industry gross margins for Marketing, Commerce, and Data Cloud products. This role will collaborate with finance operations to automate and continuously improve gross margin reporting. The successful candidate will proactively partner with T&P leaders to analyze trends by data centers, customers, and product gross margins.
Your Impact:
Partner with the various teams across Finance, Product, Infrastructure, and Customer Success to research and develop gross margin models for existing and new products
Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to provide Gross Margin projections for new cloud infrastructure regions
Produce insights for T&P leadership on data center, customer, and product profitability
Analyze large volumes of standard datasets using various tools like SQL, Tableau, R, etc
Provide recommendations for metric accuracy and build proof-of-concept definitions to improve gross margin insights
Provide pricing recommendations on new and existing products based on unit cost and utilization data
Document processes, use cases, standard methodologies and requirements in a way that can be understood by business and technical partners
Present gross margin analysis to wide set of audiences across Finance, Product, and Infrastructure (analyst to senior leadership)
Collaborate with GTM Finance to use Pricing, Gross Margin, and Utilization information to influence OU Strategies
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Information Systems, or similar. Will also consider other degrees with relevant experience
3+ years of Experience with databases and writing SQL (Oracle, Hive, Postgres, Snowflake etc.. )
2+ years of experience with visualization tools like Tableau, Tableau or Einstein Analytics, Qlik, or similar tools
Proficiency with financial systems; in particular enterprise grade ERP, Planning & Analysis, and BI systems
Experience building and presenting new data analysis and insight in clear and concise manner
Experience managing and analyzing cloud infrastructure costs
Ability to quickly understand complex business processes and build subject matter expertise in data and technical aspects
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Strong research and problem solving abilities are required
Team player, comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders
Communicates in a clear, concise and timely manner and operates effectively as a team player
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
High level of confidence and comfort in working autonomously without constant supervision (self-starter, strong initiative, fast learner)
Experience or familiarity with Salesforce platform preferred
