BASIC FUNCTION Under general supervision with minimal to no assistance the Visual Inspection Technician will be responsible for conducting microscope inspections of components, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. A keen attention to detail is central to the job. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively when reporting issues and defects is a must. Position requires knowledge of good manufacturing practices, precision measurement instruments, basic PC skills, literacy, and general mathematical skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Accurately perform visual inspection on all product assemblies for workmanship, cosmetic acceptability, cleanliness, etc. • Read and comprehend documentation relating to phases of production area: customer supplied blueprints, parts lists, and rework instructions. • Record all inspection results onto an inspection report as required. Keep accurate and detailed records. • Understand all production processes which relate to inspection; can use quick judgment and discretion in determining acceptable standards. • Report any errors or major discrepancies to the Team Leader immediately so immediate corrective action may be taken. • High level of attention to detail, focus, and accuracy while under tight deadlines. • Ensure proper calibration and functionality of microscope systems before use. • Must understand and abide by all plant rules and safety rules and regulations. • Support all company goals and objectives. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • Previous experience using specific manufacturing inspection equipment. • Proven experience in visual inspection, quality control, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment is preferred. • Proficiency and comfortability working with microscopes for extended periods to conduct detailed inspections. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate inspection results and collaborate with cross-functional teams. • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation purposes.
