IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a SUE Field Technician in our Gainesville, VA office. The SUE Field Technician is a field position whose duties include operating field Subsurface Utility equipment, demonstrated ability for geophysical prospecting for underground utilities, and support of overall crew activities.
Some key duties and responsibilities include:
Selects and applies the appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to accurately designate non-complex underground utility layouts
Handles equipment maintenance and supplies
Transports equipment in a timely and efficient manner
Participates in daily briefings/debriefings and ensure all tasks are being addressed in the field
Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
Proficiency with modern SUE equipment
Knowledge, education, and/or work experience relating to typical SUE marketing techniques including sweep, direct connects, indirect connects and induction methods
Understands and adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements of IMEG and clients
Knowledgeable of jurisdictional and industry requirements
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a outdoor environment
Ability to travel to job sites, forested areas, rough terrain, to client offices for meetings, and other business-related needs
Education and experience requirements include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering preferred
Experience with Subsurface Utility Engineering equipment preferred
