Seeking applicants for qualified individuals to assist the Director of the Carthage Paleontology Program, Dr. Thomas Carr, as a co-leader in the summer field course working in the Hell Creek Formation of southeastern Montana.
Responsibilities:
Logistic preparation for the summer field course.
Managing the vertebrate fossil collection including proper storage.
Cataloging and facilitating loans.
Managing the fossil preparation laboratory environment for compliance and safety.
Interacting with the public.
Supervising students and community volunteers in the field.
Qualifications:
Competitive applicants will hold a Master's Degree or equivalent in a related field.
Two years of experience in a paleontology laboratory.
Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and comfort working with diverse audiences.
Ability to use field and laboratory equipment for fossil recovery and preparation; and comfort assisting in a classroom environment.
This position is grant funded and will be evaluated annually.
