Responsibilities
• Utilize Fusion Splicer to splice Loose Tube & Ribbon fiber cable• Prep/Splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables• Troubleshoot fiber utilizing an OTDR• Maintain and review cable records• Follow safety regulations and guidelines• Maintain equipment and vehicle• Coordinate and communicate with tech ops managers• Work night shifts and be on call for emergencies• Knowledge of ribbon fiber and fiber to the home
Requirements
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English• Work independently and handle multiple projects• Maintain confidentiality and make decisions under pressure• Analyze and interpret data• Strong knowledge of MS Office software• Good verbal communication and writing skills• Knowledge of transmission and CATV telecommunications systems• Knowledge of public safety• Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware/software• Knowledge of optical splicing equipment
