REQ #37302 Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, results-oriented professional to serve as Federal Grant Coordinator. Under administrative direction, this position will develop, coordinate, and manage on a statewide basis the planning, development, implementation, and review of programs, projects, and activities funded by the federal Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention Grant Program. The position will also develop and coordinate an overall planning strategy, conducting specific staged planning in specific target areas and developing the overall budget for assigned federal grants. Job Responsibilites 1. Serves as Federal Grant Coordinator;
2. Develops and coordinates an overall planning strategy;
3. Develops and administers the overall budget for assigned federal grants;
4. Serves as grant liaison with federal officials; and
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications 1. Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college.
2. Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Specialized Skills Of the noted 3 years of experience, requires that the experience include federal and/or state grant management/monitoring and contract/budget development and administration, including research, writing, and editing of progress and annual reports on the implementation of programs and services; requires 3 years of professional experience in the development and issuance of service standards and requests for services.
Preferred Qualifications 1. Prefers 3 years of professional experience in federal and/or state grant management/monitoring and contract/budget development and administration, including research, writing, and editing of progress and annual reports on the implementation of programs and services.
2. Prefers 3 years of professional experience in the development and issuance of service standards and requests for services.
3. Prefers completion of a master's degree in a public administration, business, or human services field.
4. Prefers 3 years of professional experience in a public or business organization applying extensive knowledge of public and business administration principles and practices.
5. Prefers 3 years of professional experience analyzing administrative problems and developing an effective course of action.
6. Prefers 3 years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity for a public or business organization.
