1. Job Summary:The Family Engagement Advisor assists the Family Engagement Director in providing strong leadership to the Kids Stuff team to deliver quality care to children in a positive and nurturing environment while their caregivers are using YMCA facilities. The Family Engagement Advisor assists the Family Engagement Director in recruiting, staffing, training, and supervision of the kids stuff team and handles the day-to-day operations.2. Essential FunctionsGreet and communicate professionally and courteously with members providing specific information about their childrens experience.Maintain a safe play environment which includes ensuring correct staff to child ratios.Follow daily sanitizing procedures and adhere to weekly cleaning schedules to ensure site is kept clean and organized at the end of the day/shift.Assist the Family Engagement Director with staff schedules and availability and find coverage for open shifts.Supervise, play and initiate games and activities with children.Provide support for the Alaris system by checking kids in and out as well as trouble shoot problems.Assist Director with the planning, supervising, managing ratios and implementation of program and program activities.Follow YMCA expectations and policies and ensure they are followed by all kids stuff team members.Provide work direction to program staff while on duty.Perform administrative activities to support the program, which could include spreadsheet tracking, maintaining adequate supplies, submitting purchasing needs, overseeing online reservation calendars, or tracking staff trainings and certifications.Attend all staff meetings and training sessions and if needed help lead them.Follow all procedures and policies of the department, branch, and Association.3. Relationships:This position reports to the Program Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with children and parents and staff. Provides work direction to staff as required.4. Qualifications:RequiredMinimum age of 18Must be able to work a minimum 10-15 hours per weekMinimum of 6 months experience leading and supervising childrenAbility to motivate, energize, and entertain childrenKnowledge of appropriate activities for various age levels including skill and ability to implement curriculumRequired certifications: BLS, First Aid and Oxygen AdministrationRequired training: building EMG procedure training, YMCA Kids Stuff Lead staff training, SUIDs, AHT, Child Abuse Prevention, Bullying Awareness, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Emergency Action PlanDemonstrated organizational and child supervision skills6. Work Conditions:Ability to lead and participate in physical activities that may include but are not limited to walking, standing for long periods of time, bending, reaching, running, throwing, kicking and lifting up to 50 lbs.Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the environment.Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces.7.
