The Fairgrounds Service Specialist is responsible for maintaining Fairground facilities for year-round usage. This role performs preventive and scheduled maintenance of grounds and facilities. This includes general custodial duties. The Fairgrounds Service Specialist also supervises the activities of community service workers. Work involves management of Fairground's events, supervising events to ensure satisfaction of customer and protection of County assets. Work may also involve collecting and documenting compensation for materials and services provided. The Fairgrounds Service Specialist serves as the point of contact for guests and vendors during scheduled events. Anticipated Hire Range: $20.50 - $21.00 USD Per Hour Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills. This full-time position operates on a four-day work week. We are filling two positions with a schedule of Sunday - Wednesday (4 10s) and Wednesday - Saturday (4 10s) with both positions scheduled to work 10:30 AM - 9:00 PM. Essential Duties: The Fairgrounds Service Specialist is responsible for: Overseeing event management, solving any public safety concerns. Setting up events and facilitating event concerns and problems for customer and County. Protect County property and assets. Serving as the point of contact during fairgrounds events. Dealing with sensitive and unexpected situations. Supervising the work of community service workers. Accepting and documenting funds received from asset usage. Overseeing Fairground construction and maintenance projects by assessing property and amenity conditions. Performing preventative and scheduled site maintenance. Performing general custodial duties to facilities. Removing snow from fairground parking lots and sidewalks to ensure public safety. Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on fairground vehicles and equipment. Performing administrative tasks. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and 1 year of work-related experience. Or any combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: Snow removal experience. Light equipment/tools operation experience. Experience with customer service/public-facing role.
