Position Summary Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Theology as the Director of Pre-Seminary Studies on the Mequon, WI campus. This position is in the Department of Theology and in the School of Arts and Sciences, with an anticipated start date of August 2024.
Job Duties & Responsibilities Administrative responsibilities are primarily directing the Pre-Seminary program, which includes representing and promoting the program at the local, regional, and synodical levels. Teaching responsibilities are primarily in the area of theology and practice, which may include courses such as Lutheran Worship, Christian Ethics, and/or courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, service on faculty committees within the department, school, and university, and curriculum development, revision, and assessment. All CUW faculty members hold 12-month contracts and teach in fall, spring, and summer semesters as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Pastoral experience preferred Familiarity with online instruction Experience working with diverse cultural experience Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Education & Experience The Pre-Seminary Director must be an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod or of a sister synod in fellowship. It is desired that he have a completed or nearly completed doctorate in theology. Several years of pastoral experience, and evidence of successful teaching are expected. This individual must have an appreciation for the mission and purpose of Concordia University as a comprehensive university of the LCMS.
