Overview Pennsylvania College of Technology is excited to invite individuals with a passion for teaching and a commitment for nurturing young minds to be a part of our dynamic team beginning Fall 2024. The qualified candidate will teach undergraduate level courses in electrical construction, electrical technologies and HVAC electrical systems. As a full-time faculty member, you will be responsible for delivering engaging in-person lectures, designing hands-on lab activities, and providing individualized support to students. Additionally, you will develop and update curriculum materials, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience. This is an exciting opportunity to prepare students for successful careers in the electrical industry. Qualifications EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline. Required Master's Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Adult Education or a related disciplines. Preferred Formal coursework in education. Preferred Successful completion of the Pennsylvania Vocational Trade Competency Examination. Preferred Valid Driver's License. Preferred EXPERIENCE Four (4) years industry experience which must include experience in residential/commercial electrical construction; the installation and service of electrical, electromechanical, HVAC electrical and electronics equipment/systems. Required Proficient in the National Electrical Code (NEC). Preferred Teaching experience at the college/university level. Preferred ABILITIES AND SKILLS Ability to qualify for and successfully complete the occupational competency examination in the electrical area within the probationary period. Required Competence in oral and written communications skills. Required Ability to provide quality instruction. Required Developed organizational skills. Required Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required  
Responsibilities Teach courses in residential/commercial electrical construction; the theory, installation, and maintenance of electrical, electromechanical, HVAC electrical and electronics equipment/systems. Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects. Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate up-to-date records on students. Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines. Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review, revision, and development. Assume responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance. Engage in professional development and technological upgrading activities. Contribute to the betterment of the College through School committee participation. Assist with the development of grant proposals and with follow-up activities. Comply with College safety, hazardous waste disposal, and recycling policies. Assist the Electrical Department Head in developing instructional material lists, equipment specifications, department budget requests, and assist in planning and development of master schedule proposals. Assist in providing tours and student recruitment activities scheduled by the College, school, and/or departments. Assist the Dean, Assistant Dean, and/or Department Head with the development and maintenance of learning assessment plans and documentation. Some working from ladders may be required.Pay TransparencyCommensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College's Faculty Salary System. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2023/24 academic year is $59,299 – $77,142.The wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for full-time teaching faculty, counselors and librarians (all regular College funded positions and certain grant/contract funded positions) are determined by the negotiated Agreement between Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association. If you are currently receiving an annuity from the State or Public School Employees' Retirement System, employment at Pennsylvania College of Technology may affect your annuity status.
