not be applicable to all positions. License/Certification Required Essential Job Functions Troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain buildings and building repairs associated with the carpentry trade. Such as the repairs and replacement of doors, door hardware, windows, floors, classroom and office furniture, stair treads, ceiling grid and ceiling tile, sheetrock, hang projector's and projector screens, chalkboards, bulletin boards etc. Measures, cuts, and fabricates building materials. Analyze defects or malfunctions in building structures. Work with plumbers with the maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems such as repairs and replacement of faucets, sinks, urinals, valves, water heaters and troubleshooting plumbing systems and devices in buildings. Work with electricians with the repairs of light fixtures, exit lights, emergency lights, changing ballasts, troubleshooting electrical systems and devices for buildings. Security consists of responsibility for keys that give access to assigned areas. Unlocking and locking of building doors at designated (scheduled) times is required. Must have a valid driver's license and knowledge, skills and abilities to operate ASU vehicle, as needed. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position Knowledge, Skills & Ability to provide general repair, construction and maintenance to buildings, furniture and furnishings. Working knowledge to repair and perform maintenance on building plumbing systems. Working knowledge to repair and perform maintenance on electrical systems. Basic computer skills. Ability to work in a large industrial setting; The Hickory Campus location is a five-story building with 226,000 square feet. Ability to operate University owned vehicles with a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications

-Ability to perform medium to heavy physical work.
-Working knowledge in multiple trades; Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical Work Schedule/Hours: 6:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. or 7:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Due to the inaccessibility of some educational areas during normal working hours, work schedules may vary.Position is subject to call back or stay over on evenings and weekends should emergencies occur.Position is considered MANDATORY and is expected to be able to work during University emergencies, holidays, closures and in the event of adverse weather.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $37,100 - $44,347
