Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the plant facility. Utilize sanitizing chemicals and cleaning equipment as needed.
Clean, sanitize, sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum all areas assigned: bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, welfare areas, and production offices. Responsible for maintaining clean and safe work areas, free from slippery surfaces and floors littered with debris. Clean and sanitize walls, windows, tables, floors, and like surfaces. Empty trash and garbage containers. The employee must pick up cigarette butts, paper, and any debris that is found inside or outside the facility. Visually observant of repairs or issues in the plant such as missing tiles, light bulb replacement, etc. and report to management. Operate several types of motorized cleaning equipment. Will use, maintain, and store equipment properly. Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Perform all other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Ability to read and understand cleaning labels. Must be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions. Ability to operate small power or hand tools. Ability to operate machinery and equipment, such as ride-on scrubbers. Basic computer skills are not required. Demonstrated Competencies Work independently and complete assigned tasks. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Must have regular and punctual attendance. Physical Requirements This position requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, reaching, bending, and lifting. Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends. Experience: Previous janitorial experience is advantageous, but not required.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
