In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only. Full Salary Range Minimum: $38,542.00

The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) is a versatile and hands-on position responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of various university facilities that reports directly to the Executive Director of Customer Experience and Campus Aesthetics. This role involves performing a wide range of general maintenance tasks, assisting with moves and event setups, coordinating contractors for more complex projects, and providing oversight of janitorial services. The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, functional, and inviting campus environment for students, faculty, and staff. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Key Responsibilities:
General / Maintenance: Assemble and install furniture, including desks, chairs, and shelving. Repair minor plumbing issues, such as leaky faucets and clogged drains. Replace light bulbs, as needed. Ceiling tile replacement. Drywall repair/patch and paint. Window/Glass film application. Clean and clear out gutters. Maintain overall exterior site/building appearance in parking and landscape areas, including minor trimming of trees, bushes, etc.; power washing, sign cleanliness, window washing, etc. Maintain overall interior building appearance. Assist with wall decoration (hanging of picture/plaque/diploma, etc.) and sign placement. Conduct routine inspections of campus facilities to identify maintenance needs. Coordinate with Facilities and Logistics Manager regarding general equipment and vehicle maintenance. Coordinate with on-site Security staff to respond to urgent/emergency matters. Event Setup and Tear Down: Set up and dismantle equipment, seating, and decor for university events. Ensure event spaces are clean and presentable before and after use. Collaborate with event organizers to meet specific setup requirements. Coordinate/schedule vendors for university events. Moves and Relocations: Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies between campus and clinic (Oliver Station) locations. Safely transport and handle items during relocations. Ensure that spaces are left in good condition after moves. Contractor Coordination: Coordinate with external contractors/vendors for more complex repairs including, but not limited to: carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing projects. Monitor and oversee contractor work to ensure quality and compliance with university standards. Communicate project progress and requirements to relevant university departments. Janitorial Oversight: Collaborate with janitorial staff to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of campus facilities Report any maintenance issues or concerns related to janitorial services. Assist in training and onboarding of janitorial staff as needed. Oregon Campus Expansion: Support initiatives related to the WesternU Oregon campus expansion. Provide assistance in Facilities related matters, as needed. This may include, but not limited to: coordinating site visits, responding to incidents on vacant land, providing input on potential maintenance needs. Other Duties: Perform other duties, as assigned. This includes coordinating with other members of the Division of Institutional Shared Services (ISS). Required Qualifications Qualifications: Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC. Excellent computer skills necessary to set up document formats in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook and any other software programs required by this position. Valid Driver's License (will require background check) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required. Occasional travel to other campus locations and clinics required. Education:
Any combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant trade school or vocational training is a plus. Experience:
