The Expense Associate will work closely with all levels of field management to ensure T&E expense activity submitted by field advisors and branch personnel, have been appropriately reviewed and approved using various internal systems. The Expense Associate will report directly to the Expense Approval Manager. The Expense Associate will interact with the field and internal personnel to resolve issues encountered during the expense review and approval process. Associates are responsible for understanding Firm policies and procedures to allow them to review expense activity accurately and efficiently.Duties and Responsibilities:Review and approve T&E expense reimbursement requests primarily for field advisors and branch personnelAbility to review a high volume of detailed expense reimbursement requests in a fast-paced environmentProvide world-class customer service to both field facing and internal counterparts in all interactionsEnsure all expense requests are handled in a timely and accurate manner; if there are any issues, resolve / escalate on a case-by-case basisResearch and resolve problems and deficiencies in a timely mannerApply Firm policies and procedures on expense review and approval activityProactively participate in available training and education programs to maintain current status on policies, procedures and risk awarenessProvide and receive feedback and suggestions on ways to improve processes that are in placeApply critical thinking when making decisions on items to evaluate risk and client experienceOther duties and responsibilities as neededBachelor's degree or equivalent education experience preferred, or applicable experience in lieu of education will be considered2+ years of industry experience preferred or desire to be part of the financial service industry desiredDesire to obtain financial licensing, specifically Series 7, 66Excellent interpersonal and client service skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and excellent judgementExceptional organization and follow-up skillsAbility to prioritize and multi-taskAbility to research and resolve problems and service inquiries and escalate issues where appropriateStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office SuiteTeam player with the ability to collaborate with othersSelf-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environmentMorgan Stanley's goal is to build and maintain a workforce that is diverse in experience and background but uniform in reflecting our standards of integrity and excellence.
