Responsibilities
• Cultivating a workplace culture of inclusivity, celebration, growth, and opportunity• Assisting the Executive Chef in coaching, mentoring, and developing the kitchen team• Maintaining open channels of communication with the restaurant management team• Training and developing both cooks and service team members• Sourcing seasonal and cost-effective ingredients• Participating in product ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory• Remaining aware of local and national restaurant trends• Managing vendor relationships• Completing daily prep sheets and production sheets• Assisting with recipe management and costing
Requirements
• 2-3-plus years experience in a Sous Chef or Kitchen Leadership role• 5+ years culinary experience• Culinary degree or certification preferred• Awareness of Portland market trends• Ability and desire to lead a bilingual kitchen team• Financial management experience• Valid Oregon Food Handlers permit and ServeSafe Managers certification required• Physical requirements
