A solid part of Global FP&A & Expense Management team is the Executive Director, FP&A and Expense Management. This position provides collaborative and transformational contributions to overall planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of RGA's financial performance, which involves developing and managing financial analysis procedures, and identifying and prioritizing recommended actions.
Strong Expense Management Experience is a must. This Executive Director will prepare and maintain metric-driven financial models used to forecast and evaluate performance and perform additional analysis. They will provide strategic insights and analysis to senior management and utilize storytelling and visualization techniques for Executive and Board presentations, leveraging automation, systems, and technology to enhance data, analytics, and reporting platforms, and strengthen global framework and coordination for management reporting and analysis in alignment with RGA objectives, overall profitability, and long-term strategy.
Responsibilities Develop, refine, and implement management level analytics, insights, and reporting, to drive actionable recommendations for senior management and business leaders, including historical trends and future perspectives and alignment with long-term strategy. Build dynamic, flexible financial and scenario modeling, as needed. Leverage automation, finance systems, and technology to build more robust data and analytics platform for Global Finance, specifically the FP&A team, and improve efficiency and effectiveness of planning and reporting processes. Partner with other areas of finance and other areas of the company to create insightful financial analyses and presentations (standard and ad-hoc) to leadership, which contribute to their effectiveness and the oversight of RGA's expense base. Provide leadership and support during the budget process Develop metrics to track team-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, clearly communicate recommendations, and collaborate across all levels of the organization. Utilize storytelling and visualization techniques in development of Executive and Board of Director level presentations. Manages, coaches, collaborates and develops personnel involved in tracking, analyzing and reporting financial and operational metrics across multi-product, multi-function, global organization. Performs supervisory duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching and disciplining direct reports as needed. Mentors and trains associates within the department, ensuring necessary skills are developed and specified processes are followed. Requirements Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience 12+ years in corporate finance, financial modeling, or FP&A 4+ years management experience Required: Strong Expense Management Experience is a must. Highly advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received Highly advanced level of investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills Expert ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives Advanced skills in change management and process improvement Highly advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions Highly advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously Highly advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines Advanced knowledge of broad business and finance related practices Ability to manage multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility Ability to clearly translate data into information and communicate information to all levels in the organization Advanced ability to work well within a team and collaborative work environment Company Overview Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (NYSE: RGA) is one of the largest global providers of life reinsurance, with offices around the world. State of Colorado: This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $117,440 - 174,990 per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
