Job Description and Duties The Governor's Office of Planning and Research (OPR) is recruiting to fill one (1) limited term fulltime Associate Governmental Program Analyst position within the Executive Office.  This is a 12-month limited term position with the possibility of being extended to a maximum of 24-months and/or may become permanent.
Under direction of the Director of the Office of Planning and Research (OPR), the Executive Analyst will serve as lead support for the Director and Undersecretary, is responsible for various administrative and analytical tasks, including developing, establishing, and implementing procedures and protocols to support administrative, logistical and personnel activities, preparing confidential and sensitive correspondence, coordinating for executive leadership and the organizational-wide events, meeting design preparation and facilitation, and staff support services; consistently exercise a high level of initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned tasks including research of facts on which decisions or recommendations may be based. The assignments are routinely sensitive and typically specialized. Working Conditions The positions at OPR may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position under Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the OPR Telework Policy and/or future program need.
All OPR employees must reside in California upon appointment.
OPR is located in Sacramento, directly across from the State Capitol. Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods. Standard office environment (artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.) D aily use of personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone. Special Requirements A completed and detailed Examination/Employment Application (STD 678) must be received in the Human Resources Office or postmarked by the final filing date. Resumes, Cover Letters, Statement of Qualifications, etc. DO NOT replace the required STD 678. All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position. If you are using education to meet MQs, please include your transcripts with your application package. If you have a degree from outside of the United States, you must submit an evaluation of this degree to determine the US equivalency. Experience preparing written correspondence, memos, policies and/or procedures Experience scheduling meetings and/or calendar management on behalf of another Experience preparing presentation materials, including PowerPoint, handouts, etc. Experience reviewing and analyzing reports and/or data to make recommendations Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Teams, Planner, Outlook, etc. Ability to communicate/collaborate with clients and/or external stakeholders Experience taking meeting minutes, notes or documenting action items Ability to research, prepare, and/or review confidential information Experience scheduling and managing travel on behalf of another Benefits OPR employees are eligible for a number of benefits. Disclosure Requirements This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete the Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) within 30 days of appointment and once per year. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
