Responsibilities
• Schedule appointments and manage files• Provide administrative support to the chief of staff, deputy chief of staff, and vice president for strategic initiatives• Manage special projects• Serve as the first point of contact for university constituents• Interact with cabinet members, board members, community members, faculty, staff, and students
Requirements
• Professional, efficient, organized, articulate, honest, and pleasant• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Google Suite, Chrome River, Blackboard, and Banner• Knowledgeable about Commonwealth of Virginia travel policies and procurement policies and procedures• Experience with eVA and SWaM• Strong writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills• Strong organizational skills and flexibility for occasional after-hours work• Ability to work independently and within a team framework• Ability to multitask and manage projects• High school diploma or equivalent• Professional experience supporting at the executive level• Working knowledge of office practices and experience working in an academic environment• Proficiency in MS Office programs and Google Suite• Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or some college level and/or professional secretarial training are valuable• Previous secretarial work experience in higher education is preferred• General working knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia training and experience with eVA and SWaM procurement policies and procedures• Working knowledge of State travel policies and procedures is preferred• Budget experience is preferred
