Exciting Opportunity: Executive Vice President of Business Development for the West Coast Region
We are a leading hotel development and management company seeking an experienced Executive Vice President of Business Development to lead our growth efforts in the West Coast Region of the US. This pivotal role may be hybrid remote, with the flexibility to work from home while visiting our corporate office at least once a month. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
Position Summary:
As the Executive Vice President of Business Development for the West Coast Region, you will be responsible for managing the integrity and accuracy of all hotel underwriting, management proposals, contracts, and development services. You will proactively identify emerging industry trends and develop appropriate responses and market-leading solutions. Driving continuous transformation in how we engage with our current ownership groups and exceeding our organic third-party budgets are key drivers of this role. Understanding the needs of our teams across the US and Canada and serving as a strategic advisor to ensure they have the necessary resources and tools to secure deals will be crucial.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Western region of the United States, ensuring company goals, initiatives, and expectations for organic third-party deals and development services are met throughout the year.
- Demonstrate exceptional understanding of team initiatives, leadership, deal structure, contract details, and maintain strong owner relationships across every opportunity.
- Effectively communicate company policy and procedure updates, industry trends, and regulatory changes to the management team in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics and compliance.
- Aggressively research and analyze real estate industry trends to stay current and identify emerging issues affecting business plans, new product, and service opportunities.
- Review portfolios to identify, evaluate, and determine appropriate courses of action for potential incremental revenue opportunities across all markets and areas of growth to maximize our potential.
- Understand third-party underwriting, ownership structures, and the complexity of deal structures.
Job Requirements:
- Expert-level understanding of leading a team, underwriting, contracts, and account management.
- Ability to negotiate, influence others, and apply financial acumen with a focus on service and execution.
- Understanding of markets and nuances of select, full-service, and lifestyle brands.
- Familiarity with franchise agreements and deal structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of credit administration, policies, and procedures.
- Exceptional documentation and risk analysis skills.
- Strong marketing, sales, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong broker relationships.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Servant leadership mentality and proven ability to work as part of a team.
Minimum Experience: 10 years of industry experience, preferably in the hospitality sector.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree.
