The Events and Retail Manager position at Marymount University is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and entrepreneurial manager.The Manager will be responsible for supervising special events, managing financial controls and payroll records, and ensuring a successful retail food service operation.They will also be responsible for developing proposals and collaborating with University departments to provide excellent service and pitch customers on incorporating Marymount programming into their events.

Responsibilities
• Overseeing daily administrative and operational tasks at Saint 24• Managing all financials, including budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting• Maintaining knowledge of the market and trends• Coordinating marketing efforts to maximize revenues and satisfaction• Managing cost controls and expenditures• Overseeing sanitation and safety• Purchasing and managing inventory• Rolling out new culinary programs• Driving the generation of new revenue through conferences and events• Fostering relationships at the executive level• Providing operational and creative oversight of all conferences and events• Handling conference and event logistics• Ensuring high guest satisfaction ratings• Ensuring special events are licensed and safety protocols are enforced• Developing and maintaining a sales-centered website and social media presence• Managing Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and other event software• Establishing and monitoring revenue and expense budgets• Performing other assigned duties
Requirements
• Culinary degree or Bachelor's degree preferred• 3-5 years supervisory experience in food service operations• Knowledge of retail, food and catering trends• Experience in university events management is highly desirable• Experience in establishing and nurturing long term business relationships• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills• Accounting and marketing knowledge and experience• Excellent project management experience and ability to meet deadlines• Leadership, management, and coaching skills• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• ServSafe® Certified• Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills
