Summary of Responsibilitie s
Our estimator is responsible for providing customers and the company with accurate projections of the cost of each remodeling project. Ordering, subcontractor relationship development and scope of work planning are also responsibilities found within the lens of the estimator role.
Essential List of Responsibilities Always provide exceptional customer service
Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing field notes, sketches, pictures, and plans/specifications
Perform quantity take-offs for select trades.
Work with design to solidify takeoffs and orders for selections
Develop and prepare ballpark estimates with minimal subcontractor assistance using limited preliminary design documents/information.
Ensure that Vendor and supplier prices are accurate and up to date.
Create written estimates/Contract Agreement for customers that describe the scope of work estimated in an easy-to-read format
Create or improve templates to improve efficiency and consistency.
Prepare descriptive purchase orders for subcontractors
Visit each jobsite to get an understanding of the logistics and challenges at each site
Produce pricing for field change orders
Interact with homeowners/clients, architects, engineers and local jurisdictions to understand and incorporate project objectives, schedules, permits, costs, etc.
Review past estimates for accuracy and incorporate findings in process improvements and recommendations.
Most importantly, an individual who has a good attitude and enjoys hard work Experience and Education Senior Project Manager experienced in residential remodeling, skilled in budget management, with intermediate or higher computer proficiency with estimating experience.
Experienced Estimator with 3+ years of experience estimating for Residential or Commercial projects. Required Skills & Abilities Strong math skills and ability to calculate area and volume.
Tech savvy, having an ability to learn new software easily
Keen eye for detail requirements of estimating and proper bid preparation.
Ability to read and interpret schematic designs and construction documents.
Able to understand unique site characteristics, restrictions and requirements.
General construction, materials, and tools knowledge.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines.
Excellent written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to handle adversity and challenges
Experience with BuilderTrend, Bluebeam, Google Sheets and Excel
