Heavy Civil Estimator: The Estimator will be responsible for calculating the cost of a broad range of projects. The goal is to provide accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning, performing quantity takeoffs, producing proposals, preparing cost estimates by analyzing requests for proposals, reviewing bid instructions, blueprints, specifications, and related bid documents, and working with subcontractors and vendors to obtain proposal pricing to incorporate in the bid estimate.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Review, interpret, and accurately estimate scopes of work as described in project documents. Prepare take-off and pricing for civil disciplines. Responsible for all aspects of estimating including pre-construction, hard bids, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, value engineering, and subcontractor bidding. Solicit and collect subcontractor/ vendor bids and quotations. Reviewing/researching historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compiling summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates. Proficiently maintaining files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc. Creating, sending, and managing subcontractor requests for proposal Reviewing design options and recommending the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials. Qualifications: 5 years of estimating experience in the Heavy Civil earthworks, grading, underground utilities, excavation business Excellent written and verbal communication Must have strong organizational skills Ability to work well on a team HCSS skills preferred Degree preferred but not required with the right amount of experience Please reach out to me ASAP at View phone number on us.bebee.com or with a resume and/or further information
