Dear prospective candidates,We are looking for a caring and dedicated Student Management Specialist who believes in the potential of every student. As a specialist, you will use restorative practices to foster positive relationships between students, teachers, and parents. Your role will involve helping students grow and improve their behavior, as well as creating individual interventions for those in need. Additionally, you will play a key role in planning and maintaining school-wide systems, structures, and discipline. Job Summary:- Support the principal in the overall administration of the middle school program.- Act as a resource for teachers and staff who have concerns regarding student attendance, development, and discipline.- Collaborate with guidance counselors, police liaisons, school psychologists, and social workers to meet with students and parents and discuss strategies for improving attendance and behavior.- Communicate with families through conferences or other means to address student attendance and behavior.- Resolve student behavior concerns in a fair and timely manner, while keeping records of disciplinary actions taken.- Monitor the physical school environment, addressing student vandalism promptly.- Assist in interpreting school district programs related to student substance abuse and truancy.- Provide recommendations for revising policies and rules that affect student behavior.- Collaborate on strategies to improve student performance, attendance, and development.- Assist in developing and implementing practices for campus control and security.- Maintain active relationships with parents, families, and students.- Contribute to establishing rules for students in in-school suspension or detention.- Respond to written and verbal communications concerning student development and discipline.- Serve as a member of committees and attend meetings as directed by the principal.- Assume responsibility when all administrators are absent.- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
