They help students grow and improve their behavior by creating personalized interventions. In addition, they play a vital role in establishing and maintaining school-wide systems, structures, and discipline. Job Summary: Assist the principal in managing the middle school program Provide support to teachers and staff who have concerns about student attendance, development, and discipline Collaborate with guidance counselors, police liaisons, school psychologists, and social workers to meet with students and parents and discuss strategies for improving attendance and behavior Communicate with families through conferences and other communication methods to address attendance and behavior issues Resolve student behavior problems fairly and promptly, keeping records of disciplinary actions taken Safeguard the school property and respond to incidents of student vandalism Support the implementation of school district programs related to student substance abuse and truancy Recommend policy and rule revisions to improve student behavior Contribute to discussions on improving student performance, attendance, and development Assist in maintaining a safe and secure campus environment Foster positive relationships with students, families, and parents Help establish rules for students in in-school suspension/detention Respond to written and spoken communication regarding student development and disciplinary matters Participate in assigned committees and meetings as directed by the principal Take responsibility in the absence of other administrators Perform other relevant tasks and assignments as assigned by the principal Qualifications : A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
