DescriptionA Student Management Specialist helps build and maintain positive relationships between students, teachers, and parents. They support students in their growth and behavior improvement through individual interventions. They also contribute to school-wide systems, structures, and discipline. They are passionate about our students' potential and serve as ambassadors for our community.Job Summary Assist the principal in managing the middle school program Support teachers and staff in addressing concerns related to student attendance, development, and discipline Collaborate with guidance counselors, police liaisons, school psychologists, and social workers to meet with students and parents to discuss improving attendance and behavior Communicate with families to address student attendance and behavior issues Resolve student behavior concerns fairly and promptly, and maintain records of disciplinary or referral actions Monitor and address student vandalism on school grounds Assist in interpreting school district programs related to student substance abuse and truancy Provide recommendations for revising policies and rules regarding student behavior Collaborate on strategies to improve student performance, attendance, and development Contribute to campus control and security practices Maintain positive relationships with parents, families, and students Assist in establishing rules for students assigned to in-school suspension/detention room Respond to written and verbal communication regarding student development and discipline matters Participate in committees and meetings as directed by the principal Take responsibility when all administrators are absent from the building Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the principal Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree Salary View salary information here.
