Chipton-Ross is seeking 3 Equipment & Tool Engineer 3's for a contract opportunity in Everett, WA.
*This position is 100% ONSITE.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Commercial Airplanes is seeking Mid-Level Equipment & Tool Engineers to support the tooling for the 777 models of Client aircraft. As a Tool Engineer, you will support a variety of tooling that is required to build the 777 fleet. This position involves utilizing engineering expertise to develop and/or modify highly complex multi-purpose tools, or tools used in high precision, limited space applications to meet production reliability and safety needs.
A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.
This is an equipment and tooling development, implementation, and improvement role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
o Provides engineering expertise in tooling design and development.
o Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
o Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design, usability, and rate estimates.
o Leads the creation and modification of tooling definition including gated reviews and develops plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
o Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
o Troubleshoots current production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability.
o Develops and implements work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware and documentation.
o Perform studies and make recommendations for disposition of assets.
o Develops concepts and designs in CATIA and present them for technical and financial approval.
o Participates in tool try-outs to ensure requirements are met.
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
o 5 or more years of experience with production systems in a manufacturing or engineering capacity.
o Regular and predictable attendance is required.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
o 5 or more years of experience working in an Equipment or Tool Engineering role.
o 5 or more years of experience working in a production environment.
o 3 or more years of CATIA V5 solid modeling experience.
o 3 or more years of working GD&T experience.
o 1 or more years of experience checking and reviewing engineering designs and drawings.
o 1 or more years of experience working to industry standards including compliance with hardware and safety codes.
o 1 or more years of experience working with hardware configuration management.
o Familiarity with Client Tool Engineering systems, processes and procedures.
o Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems.
o Project Management Knowledge.
o Strong written and oral communication Skills.
o Motivated self-starter that may be asked to train less experienced engineers.
o Ability to collaborate with both the Engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor operations team.
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
