This Vision is brought to life by our Values - Care, Respect, Integrity, Performance and Teamwork - which put our people, host communities, the environment and our stakeholders at the forefront of our decision-making.Check us out - https://oceanagold.com/OGC VALUES:CARE | RESPECT | INTEGRITY | PERFORMANCE | TEAMWORKOceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.If you share the same values and have what we are looking for, please apply online now via our careers website:https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/OceanaGoldJob DescriptionOversee and complete environmental sampling and compliance activities for all active and inactive facilities at the OceanaGold's Haile Complex.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Support safety action plans and processes to meet company safety objectivesAdhere to permitting conditions and provide assistance to mine operations to insure compliance with regulatory requirementsAcquire and develop necessary background and environmental monitoring and sampling dataMonitoring of appropriate mining and reclamation plansMonitoring of environmental controls for mine operationsCoordinate with State and Federal agencies on mining operations and reclamationProvide oversight of consultants and contractors directing daily work toward project completionAssist in coordination of environmental auditsEscort State and Federal Environmental Inspectors during site inspectionsPrepare and track environmental reporting requirementsPlay an active role in philanthropic environmental programs in nearby communities.All other duties as reasonably assigned.QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in engineering, geology, biology, environmental science, or equivalent field preferred Working knowledge of EPA and SC Mining rules pertaining to underground and surface gold miningExperience in mining in South Carolina preferredProficiency in MS Office Applications - AutoCAD a plusExcellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oralAbility to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervisionExcellent safety and attendance recordAdditional InformationPhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.Occasionally may be required to work early morning or evening hours to meet global organizational needs.Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.OGC VALUES: CARE | RESPECT | INTEGRITY | PERFORMANCE | TEAMWORKOceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.If you share the same values and have what we are looking for, please apply online now via our careers website:https://careers.oceanagold.com/jobsShortlisting will commence immediately.
