Job summary
The Environmental Educator is responsible for providing onsite and outreach education and experiences to learners in the Denver Metro areaFacilitating play-based learning, teaching science-based concepts, and using live animals to demonstrateRepresenting Butterfly Pavilion at community events and engaging with diverse audiences

Responsibilities
• Facilitating play-based learning and providing educational information to guests of all ages• Being an ambassador at outreach booths in the community• Using live animals to demonstrate science-based concepts to guests• Teaching engaging, interactive science education programs at the Butterfly Pavilion and other locations• Working alongside team members to provide high-quality education programs• Communicating with teachers and group leads• Safely transporting and using live animals to demonstrate science-based concepts• Creating meaningful interaction and making connections between content and daily life• Developing and implementing curricula and programs for after-school programs• Delivering engaging science education programs in identified sites• Exhibiting strong behavior management skills in high-energy environments
Requirements
• Degree or equivalent experience in education, environmental sciences, or related field• Basic knowledge and interest in invertebrates, environmental science, conservation, and nature• Comfortable interacting with school-aged children and learners of all ages• Excellent customer service and communication skills• Organized and flexible• Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle• At least one year's experience working with different ages and abilities• At least one year's experience leading a group or individuals or children• At least 18 years old• Spanish speaking preferred• Able to provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations• Able to be fingerprinted• Work Schedule: 20-28 hours/week, some evenings and weekends may be required
