Job Summary If you're interested in Entry Level Seed Technician jobs, then this is the best role for you. Seed Technicians are involved in all facets of seed production within a location. Indoor seed processing and packaging activities may include receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling, or warehousing seed. Outdoor activities may include planting, pollinating, note taking, data entry, hand harvest.
Job Description May be responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment in assigned areas. R&D positions may also include electronic data collection in field and laboratory settings utilizing PC and handheld data collection devices. Manufacturing (Production) positions may also include organizing, moving, and placing seed into storage, maintaining inventory accuracy utilizing electronic inventory systems. Performs light industrial duties as assigned that may be performed outside. Skills Required 1-3 years of experience Must be able to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English, and to perform assigned tasks accurately. Must be able to adhere to all client SOPs and to support all site safety requirements. Previous experience with MS Office / Excel and other standard computer and software systems may be required. Basic mechanical ability / understanding of equipment maintenance (able to operate and trouble shoot equipment) may be required. Activities may require bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing. Education/Training/Certifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and / or related experience may be required. Additional Requirements Must be able to pass drug screen. Extended hours may be requested during the peak seasons. Shifts start at 06:00 AM and 07:00 AM, and end at 03:30 PM and 04:30 PM. Some shifts are required from late October to December. 6-10 hours per day. 30- 45 hours a week. Pay Rate/Salary Estimated Salary: $16.00 to $23.00 per hour based on qualifications.
