Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do: TranSystems' Kansas City, MO office is seeking a Roadway Project Engineer who will work under the supervision of a licensed Profession Engineer. Projects include the design and preparation of plan submittals related to highway and arterial roadway design, complex intersection design, local roadways, site design, bridge replacement/rehabilitation, traffic design, multi-use paths, maritime, and drainage design for various DOTs and municipal agencies. The individual may also be called on to work closely with other teams on multi-disciplinary projects. The engineer will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a unique and dynamic work environment.
General Duties & Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): Assist in the design and production for civil engineering projects by applying basic civil engineering principles and procedures to projectsWork with the Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer as needed to complete assigned tasksPerform engineering tasks related to the planning and design of transportation facilities. Duties include preparing engineering reports, performing engineering calculations and analysis, and furnishing technical documentation for design projectsResponsible as a member of the design team for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standardsMay be asked to participate in activities such as limited construction inspection and materials testing, surveying, CADD production, and field data collectionComply with all company polices and standards Qualifications What you bring to our firm: Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited programAbility to obtain Fundamentals of Engineering registration within 1 yearProficiency with Microsoft Office suite and basic computer skillsActively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members What we'd prefer for you to bring to our firm: Previous internship experience in civil or construction related activitiesDemonstrated leadership skills Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferredAutoCAD, Geopak and/or Microstation working knowledge EIT or EI licenseEffective written and oral communication skills are imperative Featured Benefits: Hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.Comprehensive health benefits package including wellness, maternity/paternity leave, and employer paid AD&D, STD, and LTD.401(k) company matchVacation accrual separate from sick time.Eleven (11) paid holidays for 2024 with the option to substitute 2 holidays for employees to celebrate other day(s) of significance.Six (6) day winter break in 2024 that is included in the paid holiday schedule.
