[Your Organization's Name] Job Opportunity: School Program AssistantWe are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a School Program Assistant. In this role, you will assist in the administration, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of our school program. Your contributions will directly impact the success and well-being of our students and staff.Responsibilities:- Support department leaders and teachers in improving curriculum and instruction by observing classrooms and providing access to resources.- Design, implement, and evaluate programs to prevent discipline problems and assist in resolving student issues.- Identify areas for staff development and contribute to the design and implementation of training programs.- Supervise and evaluate co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.- Assist with communication to parents and the community, and develop initiatives to engage parents and community members in our school program.- Collaborate with the principal and school committees to develop policies and evaluate their impact on the school program.- Identify factors that influence the school program and contribute to their assessment.- Maintain a calendar of school activities and coordinate research, reports, questionnaires, and surveys.- Manage assigned staff, including assigning responsibilities, resolving issues, and providing training and performance evaluations.- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and equitable school environment that promotes academic excellence and success for all students.- Promote and support the overall mission of the District by fostering a courteous and cooperative workplace environment. Qualifications :- A Master's Degree in Education or a closely related field is required.- Two years of professional teaching experience is preferred.- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.- A valid driver's license is necessary.- A Principal's license from the State of Minnesota is also required.To succeed in this role, you should have knowledge and skills in the following areas:- Familiarity with district policies, curriculum requirements, and learning objectives.- Understanding of state and federal laws governing public education, including regulations from the Minnesota Department of Education.- Proficiency in resource management techniques and practices.- Knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional conduct for education administrators.- Experience in public sector administrative management, including strategic planning, budgeting, and employee supervision.- Awareness of local community resources and training programs.- Strong oral presentation skills and proficiency in computer applications.- Excellent business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.Preferred knowledge and skills:- Understanding of Restorative Practice/Restorative Justice in K-12 Education.- Familiarity with Trauma Informed Teaching Practices.- Proficiency in the Individual Disability Education Act and Minnesota State regulations of Special Education.Preferred skills:- Ability to support the implementation of Multitiered Systems of Support (MTSS) interventions.- Experience in conducting comprehensive evaluations and implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans for special education students.Physical/Mental Requirements:- Mobility to work in an office setting and use standard office equipment.- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.- Strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.- Vision to read printed materials and computer screens.- Hearing and speech capabilities for in-person and phone communication.Working Environment:- This position is based in our school building, within an office.- Occasional travel may be required to various locations throughout the District.To apply for this position, please complete the online application form below.
