Responsibilities
• Assist Engineering Department with Utility Permitting and Inspections• Meet with various utility contractors desiring construction permits• Inspect permitted utility construction jobs• Handle citizen complaints regarding utility construction jobs• Assist City Engineer with Daily Activities• Assist in design and assembly of construction plans for "in house" projects• Assist in staking construction projects using level and/or transit• Perform traffic studies for City of Oxford• Keep backflow inspection reports for MDEQ regulations• Inspect "in house" construction projects for compliance with specifications• Assist with other office duties and inventory management• Create specification sheets for equipment bids• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Valid driver's license• High school diploma• Associate degree in civil engineering or 5 years work experience in civil engineering, infrastructure construction, or utility design and construction• Familiarity with civil engineering equipment and software, including GPS, levels, transits, MS Word, and MS Excel
