Job Overview

The role of the Engineering Technician I (VIDS-Cyber Dept) is to provide day-to-day support with practical experience, which includes laboratory testing, manufacturing, and or troubleshooting/maintenance. Preferred experience in multimedia and or audio/visual control and distribution systems. Shipboard Interior Communications Technician capable. This position reports directly to the acting Supervisor of the VIDS-CYBER DEPT in Chesapeake, VA.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Working with NIWC Atlantic and other technical codes, program/project managers, and SMEs, the Engineering Technician II will assist with the installation, planning, testing, and integration of complex audio visual displays, various communication and electronic warfare systems, related ancillary and computer based systems onboard naval ships and command centers worldwide.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
One of the following four CERTIFICATIONS is required: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Sec+, CompTIA Net+, or AVIXA CTS
Must have

Associate's Degree

in C4ISR systems, Engineering Technology, or equivalent and (1) years of installation/integration experience OR have a High School diploma and Three (3) years of practical experience, to include: laboratory testing, manufacturing, or maintenance.
Must be able to attain a Secret clearance
Must be willing to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS and work extended hours including weekends and holidays
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

and able to

provide driving record upon request.
