The Engineering Technician I - Manufacturing aids in promoting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives within the facility, aimed at enhancing safety and productivity. Duties: Including but not limited to:
• Exhibit key characteristics of a caring culture, demonstrate agility, and display customer-focused stewardship.
• Assist in identifying and executing projects to improve and standardize methods and processes within manufacturing.
• Support kaizen events and other CI efforts.
• Assist in the development, design, and drafting of work area layouts to improve the flow of material, processes, and people.
• Collaborate with engineering to re-design parts to improve manufacturability, efficiency, and reliability of the process.
• Research and purchase various tooling and supplies and distribute them to the appropriate areas.
• Create standard work documentation and ensure consistency with standards already developed. Ensure communication of new standards to those impacted.
Qualifications:
• High School diploma.
• Minimum of 3 years of previous job experience implementing lean principles and participation in kaizen events.
• Ability to operate a variety of assembly tools and the ability to skillfully weld.
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects across segments and areas including, but not limited to: service, engineering, welding, assembly, paint, and machine shop.
• Knowledgeable in ergonomics, design, engineering, safety, and assembly flow and procedures.
• Understanding and ability to apply just-in-time manufacturing principles and processes.
• Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers in a way that creates and maintains interpersonal relationships that encourage openness and teamwork.
Travel:
• Up to 5% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.
