The Role Veev's Product Engineering team is looking for a dynamic hands-on project manager who will lead multiple tasks and projects within the realm of home-related products and systems. As the Engineering Project Manager - Home Components, you will be responsible for the execution of various tasks and projects, on time, guaranteeing all involved individuals are accountable and delivering per scope & plan. You will be focused on projects such as the development of systems and components from the field of home products, mechanical, and structural systems. Whether it is a new innovative door, window or even a new roof design or a manufacturing supporting jig that needs a rapid scope and development, you will be making a direct impact towards the success of Veev's homes.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of multiple diverse projects from conception to completion, meeting quality, budget, and timeline objectives.
Responsibilities Ability to lead and manage in excellence varied engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with broad fields of Residential home engineering and the associated systems/ materials. Proven experience owning engineering projects, from design to implementation, including the evaluation of new ideas. (Presenting ROI/Effort) Strong leader with the ability to hold teams accountable to execute on existing projects. Problem solver, getting things done. Experienced in leading hardware development initiatives, from conceptualization to prototyping and final production, ensuring adherence to project requirements and technical specifications, projects timeline, and scope - having all the relevant content needed for production. Drive Process improvements, Identifying where overdoing is for no reason. Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget. Ability to complete cost estimates and project schedules as well as to ensure timeliness in the completion of projects of high quality within budget. Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met. Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, internally and externally, providing day-to-day contact and progress support. Ability to problem solve using a combination of standard methodologies, processes and procedures acquired and/or developed in previous assignments or best practices. Participates in planning and/or preparation of structural, architectural and mechanical specs for internal validations to achieve prescribed objectives and results. Ability to perform commercial and technical bid analysis and make purchase and sourcing recommendations. Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering. 5+ years' work-related experience preferably in the residential manufacturing sector (MEP systems , Building supplies, Home finished goods, etc.) Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical matters. Strong attention to schedules and budgetary guidelines, with proven ability to manage those using the relevant tools ( Gantt, ROI calculations, etc.) Proven success working with all levels of stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Skilled at conveying technical information to team members, peers, vendors, and partners. A leader with strong communication skills & a team -player. Critical thinking skills to evaluate alternative ideas and be able to bring the best idea forward. Proficient PC skills including CAD/CAM softwares (SolidWorks, etc), and proven hands on experience are a must. Additional skills such as: Using Autodesk BIM environment, testing softwares, Arena PLM, NetSuite, etc, are a plus.
