The Body and Fuel Division, within the Illinois Tool Work (ITW) Automotive segment, drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions and application engineering. : Lead a multidisciplinary team, including Advanced Manufacturing, Design, Testing, and Advanced Product Quality. Guide Advanced Processing, Tooling, and Automation Engineers to document and implement best practices. Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to ensure accurate manufacturing cost estimates and cycle times for product pricing. Work with Project and Operations teams to ensure all program documents are accurately completed and submitted on time. Oversee the timely launch of programs, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards. Partner with the Innovation team to develop manufacturing plans for new product lines. Lead the design and implementation of automation processes, aligning with project timelines and quality standards. Facilitate supplier development activities to enhance capabilities and meet project requirements. Ensure effective collaboration between the design team and OEMs, ensuring timely completion of designs and drawings. Document and store design changes accurately. Update design standards and lessons learned in a timely manner. Introduce innovative manufacturing ideas to reduce conversion costs. Develop and implement Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate potential manufacturing risks. Manage Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and obtain necessary approvals. Lead the team responsible for developing advanced quality documents and conducting APQP audits as required. Support the development of best practices for tooling, injection molding machines, and support infrastructure. Act as a manufacturing expert for innovation projects. Develop and manage standardized tool and automation build guidelines. Collaborate with the processing team to ensure tools run at maximum efficiency. Drive cost-saving initiatives within manufacturing operations. Ensure timely completion of validation activities, coordinating with relevant teams. Provide direction and support to lab technicians in conducting experiments and tests. Oversee the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Collaborate with procurement to acquire necessary equipment and supplies for the lab. Work with project engineers and program managers to develop comprehensive launch plans and timelines, assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members. Supervise and guide Electrical Engineering (EE) testing engineers to ensure accurate and thorough testing of electrical components and systems. Review test results and analyses provided by EE testing engineers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of projects. Ensure launch KPIs (Cycle time, scrap, VM & OI) meet the data provided during quoting. Ensure the program launches with minimal quality issues. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering; Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of equivalent experience required in advanced manufacturing, design engineering  and validation engineering. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling design, and automation principles. Experience with APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA and quality management systems. Good mechanical aptitude along with strong computer literacy skills required. Experience in injection molding required. Preferred Skills:
Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant quality improvement methodologies. Experience in the automotive or aerospace industries. Proficiency in CAD software for tooling design. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards. A solid background in robotics and automation. Additional Information Physical Demands:
