Description
The Position:
Richards is now seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-oriented Engineering Manager to help us elevate our Core Richards business based in Cincinnati. This business is comprised of the Jordan Valve, Low Flow, Steriflow, Steriflow Food & Beverage, Marwin, Hex, and Bestobell product lines.
The Engineering Manager will report directly to Richards' Vice President of Manufacturing and have a dotted line to the Vice President of Product Management.
He or she will inherit & lead a team of nine talented associates, all based in Cincinnati, and be responsible for the following:
New Product Development
Improvement Engineering Activities
Engineering Design Control
Configurator Development & Upkeep
Regulator & Control Valve Sizing Tools
Value Analysis / Value Engineering
Product Support Activities
Engagement with Industry Associations (ASME BPE, Fluid Controls Institute, & more)
Management of the Engineering Lab, Testing, & Capabilities
Management of the Intellectual Property Portfolio for Richards
Qualifications Include:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
Minimum 10-12 years of valve manufacturing industry experience, preferably spanning sanitary and industrial applications
At least 5-8 years of People Leadership experience
Skilled at technology and product roadmap development
Proven track record of bringing new products to market
Multi-site Engineering Leadership experience
Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, research partners, and regulatory agencies, to ensure the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability
Experience writing Capital Expense Requests to obtain funding for investments and/or projects
Experience with Intellectual Property, filing of provisional and utility patents, and managing an IP portfolio
Experience in regulation, control, on-off, and valve automation a plus
Sound knowledge of relevant industrial codes and standards, such as ISO, ASME, and API
Proficient in FMEA, CAD/CAE/PLM, and systems engineering
