Are you looking to expand your skills within an Engineering lab? We are looking for a skilled and technically savvy Engineering Technician who will have a diverse background and a passion for problem solving! You will be able to work independently and with our engineering product development and qualification team. The Engineering Lab Technician will have the ability to take a project from beginning to end with minimal supervision. This position is responsible for specimen collection, processing, testing, reporting and quality control. Your day-to-day may look like: Set-up and execute structural and environmental tests on production prototypes per written engineering plans and standard protocols. Record observations and collect the requested test data accurately, using hand-written datasheets and/or PC databases and spreadsheets. Set-up photographic and video equipment to document the tests. Fabricate simple parts and models from drawings for R&D testing. Keep analytical lab organized and clean. Troubleshoot and resolve operational and lab analytical issues. Initiate ideas and solutions to enhance lab equipment performance and reliability. Coordinate and communicate all activities and recorded data with engineering team in clear manner. Actively suggest ideas for process improvements and cost savings (improve time, reduce waste, etc.) Follows all environmental health and safety policies and procedures, models safe work practices. Responsible for contributing to and supporting a positive and respectful workplace environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Able to work overtime and on weekends as needed. What you'll Need to Succeed: Associate Technical Degree Minimum of 2+ years' proven experience in a manufacturing environment and/or in an R&D testing center Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office software package. Experience in manufacturing processes such as assembly and machining technologies and machining equipment. Nice to have, but not necessary: Strong initiative to learn. Ability to work with all types of mechanical test equipment. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Ability to work with little supervision, adapt to changes and to instruct or lead other personnel. Basic fabrication methods (drill press, hand tools, etc) Experience with ASTM structures standards strongly preferred. Experience with DO-160 and MIL-STD testing. Experience with environmental testing Maintenance repair for all test equipment Basic Machining experience is a plus. AutoCad , SolidWorks and Catia experience is a plus.
