Hours: 32 hour, 7a-3:30p/call per rotation weekday, weekends and holidays Endoscopy technician II is a valuable member of gastroenterology (GI) team. Under the direction of a GI physician or RN endoscopy technician provides assistance during endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), cystoscopy, bronchoscopy, Bravo and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP); assists with specimen collection and handling, cleans and sterilizes endoscopy instrumentation/equipment, orders supplies to maintain appropriate supply levels, facilitates patient flow and turnover in Endoscopy department, and teaches/orients newer members to the department. Endoscopy technician II is required to take call based on the rotation within the endoscopy department. This is a bi-campus position.
Essential Functions Works together with departmental and healthcare teams to complete assignments. Maintains a clean and comfortable environment for patients and visitors, prepares endoscopy suite according to specific endoscopic procedure requirements. Removes or arranges for removal of hazards from environment immediately to prevent potential safety hazards from occurring. Prioritizes and reprioritizes work based on the changing needs of the patients. Assists patient, physician and nurse during endoscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, EGD, colonoscopy, Bravo, ERCP.  Sets up, prepares and maintains endoscopic field, equipment and scopes for a variety of procedures. Cleans processes, disinfects, calibrates and maintains all endoscopes and related equipment. Assists physicians with treatments and procedures as requested, including with biopsies and specimen collection. Assists in the admission and discharge of patients. Maintains and/or repairs (or initiate appropriate repair process) all endoscopic equipment including dictation system. Assists in the collection of routine specimens, follows policy and procedure for specimen collection. Assists with the transfer of patients to and from other departments utilizing appropriate technique (i.e. body mechanics, transfer mattress). Maintains correct par level of supplies and orders as needed. Performs a variety of complex patient treatments and procedures according to standard policies and procedures. Observes reports and records non-invasive vital signs and intake and output as directed by the registered nurse and in accordance with Patient Care Service's Standards. Physically prepares patients for and assists care providers with examinations and therapeutic procedures. Assists with pre and post- operative patient admission to the Surgical Day Care Unit. Frequently kneels (bending the legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees), reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and feels (perceiving attributes of items as size, shape, temperature, or texture by means of fingertips). Occasionally crouches (bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine), and stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist). Organizational Expectations

Job Requirements
Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum Work Experience
Minimum two years experience as an Endoscopy Technician I  Minimum Licenses and Certifications
AHA CPR certification required. Required Skills.
Positive attitude, flexibility and self-direction are a must. On call per departmental needs.
