Position and Salary The Attorney General's Office is recruiting for an exempt full time Emmett Till Senior Policy Analyst (EX210) in the Policy Division. This position is located in Seattle or Olympia, Washington, and is not union-represented. Salary Range: $86,000 - $95,000. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience The following stipends may apply based on position requirements:
Incumbents assigned to our Seattle office location receive an additional 5% King County Location Pay stipend. Incumbents assigned to a position designated as requiring dual language skills will receive a 5% Dual Language Requirement Pay stipend. Division Information The Policy Division supports the development and implementation of the Attorney General's policy priorities and initiatives. The policy work of the AGO is accomplished through the collection of data, analysis and evaluation of potential and existing policy, and sharing information. The Policy Division works across divisions in the AGO, with counterparts in other states and government agencies, and with other organizations working on the Attorney General's policy priorities. Duties What does the Emmett Till Senior Policy Analyst do?
Operating with a high degree of independence, this position will enhance the capacity of state, local, and tribal law enforcement and prosecution agencies in their investigation and prosecution of unsolved indigenous civil rights cold case murders as well as collaboration between federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecution agencies.
In 2023, the AGO was awarded a grant from the Department of Justice ( This work will take place over three years in conjunction with the MMIWP and Boarding Schools policy work already underway in the Policy Division.
This position will be responsible for working with archival experts to develop a methodology for consistent archival research and leading detailed report drafting. This position will coordinate with the rest of the Tribal Policy team in the Policy Division and ensure that the work integrates ongoing objectives in the MMIWP and Indigenous Boarding Schools policy portfolios. This position will work closely with tribes to develop agreements and lead a trauma-informed process. This position reports to the Tribal Policy Manager. Qualifications Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public policy, law, political science, criminal justice, government, economics or related field. OR Seven or more years of relevant work experience. Advanced degree may substitute year-for-year for experience up to three years.
