1.00-12-Months- Exempt SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Manager of Facilities & Safety, the Emergency Preparedness & Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the district's Emergency Preparedness Plan. Additionally, this position is responsible for the oversight of transportation vendors and the district transportation operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the relationship and contract with transportation vendors to ensure that the vendor is: Planning, developing, and directing routing systems and solutions that maximize efficiencies and minimize expenditures. Designing, developing, and maintaining district-wide collision procedures for our bus companies. Coordinating inspections, training, and recordkeeping activities. Designing key performance indicators and metrics to measure the transportation department. Conduct vulnerability assessments and develop response plans, including coordinating the development, review, and implementation of the District Crisis Management Plan, which includes auditing schools' compliance with required drills and exercises. Monitor and coordinate compliance with district standards for the transportation department. Provide detailed and accurate reports to regulatory authorities. Ensure compliance with applicable policies, rules, and regulations, and ensure district compliance with all local, state, or federal requirements. Lead, educate, and inform the District in emergency planning and strategies, develop emergency plans to prepare and respond to emergencies, create educational and training materials, conduct training sessions and drills to prepare school sites for emergencies, and maintain relationships with first responders, local law enforcement, staff and administrators, which includes: Coordinate training for district staff, deliver presentations, providing guidance and acting as a resource. Designing and updating online training materials to educate and train district personnel. Assist and monitor the development of school site emergency preparedness plans in accordance with school needs. Ensure that crisis management plans are up-to-date with the latest standards in emergency response. Evaluate the emergency preparedness program to determine its effectiveness and implement or recommend improvements. Coordinate and evaluate the emergency preparedness training efforts of designated staff. Assist with and observe safety drills and advise as necessary. On a regular basis, meet with school resource officers (SROs) to review any concerns or recommendations to improve security/emergency preparedness. Act as the district resource person on emergency management. Coordinate efforts with local public safety departments in conducting training exercises. Manage the district's security technology, including video surveillance, visitor and crisis management, vape detection, card access, and a key management system. Conduct after-action evaluations for all district incidents and large-scale training exercises. Provide administrative oversight and training to school and department staff on threat assessment evaluations and intervention protocols. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Establish mechanisms for communications related to emergency preparedness and transportation for staff, students, and community members. Encourage frequent, open communication; maintain accessibility and visibility in the organization; invite suggestions and feedback from multiple stakeholder perspectives. Develop, influence, and nurture trust-based relationships with government officials at city, county, state, and federal levels and represent the district to these entities in collaboration with the Manager of Facilities & Safety. Serve as a liaison and maintain communication with vendors, schools, and families that we serve, following-up on individual cases affecting district interests as needed. Demonstrate professional demeanor; maintain confidentiality; represent the district in a positive manner; establish and maintain a positive image with sites and community. Demonstrate commitment to own professional growth. Strategize and execute the District's Mission and Vision. Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned- Tasks involved in fulfilling duty/responsibility: Collaborate across the school district and its stakeholders with diverse and unique perspectives effectively. Perform work assignments requiring attention to detail, precision, accuracy and in accordance with set deadlines. Perform assigned functions with minimal direction in accordance with established and set departmental operations. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in transportation, business management, operations, or other related field.
